Chapter Philanthropy

Alpha Xi Delta’s National Philanthropy is “Autism Speaks.”  Autism Speaks is the world’s largest autism advocacy organization and is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders.  In addition, it works towards funding research into the causes, prevention and treatment for autism and to also act to advocate the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Autism is a complex brain disorder that inhibits a person’s ability to communicate and develop social relationships.  One in every 88 children in the U. S. is diagnosed with autism; this ratio has increased tenfold in the last decade.

With these statistics in mind, our chapter is committed to participating in and diligently working towards accomplishing goals that are set forth through various, planned projects. The objective of these efforts being to help improve the lives of children diagnosed with autism in the Huntington area, as well as their families and other children across the United States.

If you have any questions, or if you would like us to participate in your project benefiting this cause, please contact Paige Dodrill at dodrill9@marshall.edu
